Sometimes during a family shoot I will set my camera up for a perfect exposure and then hand my camera to one of the kids. I show them what to do and let them use the camera to make an image or two. It`s always fun looking back through the images to see which ones they took. Usually the photos aren`t much to speak of - blurry nothingness typically... but this time I was absolutely amazed. The photo wasn`t of the ground or a blurry image at all. It was absolute to-die-for magical perfection. (Yes, I cropped a bit and color corrected but still, it`s so perfect I literally had to catch my breath.) First image is the one my new assistant, Jack, took of his mom and dad and soon-to-be baby brother - second photo is the one I took of Jack at just about the the exact same moment. â¨ď¸â

A little indoor engagement shoot magic to minimize our time outside in the sweltering summer heat and humidity! (We went outside to explore right after this set!) đ¤đ§Ą
Photographing outside in the summer heat is no joke. I definitely recommend bringing an outfit change and maybe even an extra shirt or two just in case!! (Same goes for your wedding day - always bring an extra shirt for your groom!)

Wondering what I do all day this time of year? Edit, edit and oh, EDIT! Thankful for this fancy new Lightroom tool that quickly makes things disappear- doesnât work this well all the time though and Iâm really only using it to get photo/video teams out of your photos - not stuff that should be in your photos! (This is sped up significantly - this tool, while handy, is pretty dang slow.)
